Dates and Agave Bread

1 slice per serving

   2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
   2 teaspoons baking powder
   1 teaspoon baking soda
   3/4 teaspoon salt
   1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
   1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
   1/4 teaspoon allspice
   1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
   3/4 cup pitted and chopped dates or raisins
   1/2 cup pecans, chopped
   3/4 cup buttermilk
   3/4 cup agave
   1/4 cup vegetable oil
   2 tablespoons molasses
   1 egg

In large mixing bowl, blend flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices. Stir in dates or raisins and nuts; set aside. Beat together buttermilk, agave, oil, molasses and egg. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, stir until just mixed. Spray a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Pour in batter. Bake at 325°F for 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 20 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
